Jonathan Narvaez secures his third career victory on the roads of the Giro d'Italia and confirms his affinity with the pink race: "I think it's really very important to have won today: this victory comes for me after three months of training in Ecuador. I want to thank my family, my wife, my team, who supported me so much during this period. And of course, this victory is also for my teammates. We all worked hard to arrive ready at the start of the Giro and three of them have already had to go home: if we won today it's also for them".
In the leading group, the UAE Emirates XRG men were two strong and executed perfect teamwork: "Jan Christen is a fantastic guy. He was trying to take the pink jersey and played his card two kilometers from the finish, surprising the group. He's young, he needs to learn how to race, he had an excellent final: in the end for me it was just about waiting for the sprint and positioning myself in the best spot. I think I handled the turn very well, 700 meters from the finish, and in the end, in the final straight, it was just a matter of legs".
