It is not a matter of speaking of good news, because it contains one that is tragic and that tells of the death of a young man, one of our own, Samuele Previtera, who died on July 16th of last year at Parini Hospital in Aosta following a tragic crash during the first stage of the 61st edition of the Giro della Valle d'Aosta.
It is therefore not a matter of speaking of good news, but it is a matter of speaking about it again and bringing to the attention of the great cycling community the acquittal of the race director and the organizer who, they too, have been called upon to live through a tragedy that will hardly fail to remain etched on their skin, on their soul. It is these days that the news comes that the Federal Court Section I, in collegial composition presided over by avv. Rabaini, has ruled in the proceedings against Filippo Borrione and Riccardo Moret, respectively race director and organizer of the 61st Giro Ciclistico della Valle d'Aosta. The proceedings had been reopened, after an initial request for dismissal, at the instigation of the General Prosecutor's Office for Sport at CONI. Following two hearings in which the Deputy Federal Prosecutor avv. Ida Blasi insisted on conviction, the Federal Court acquitted Filippo Borrione and Riccardo Moret because the fact does not exist. The reasons for the ruling will be filed within ten days.
