Last year she had been a protagonist of the Classics season, placing herself at Milano – Sanremo Women, Tour of Flanders and Flèche Wallonne before winning the Liège-Bastogne-Liège. This year things are going differently for Kim Le Court: involved in a crash at the Ronde, the AG Insurance – Soudal athlete fractured her wrist and had to undergo surgery.
Two weeks after the accident that affected the rest of her season, the Mauritian posted a message on her social media in which she wrote «I took some time to process what happened. It certainly wasn't the spring I had imagined, and honestly it's been hard to accept. From Strade Bianche to Flanders through Sanremo, things never went the right way. It's difficult given all the hard work I did to prepare for them». And further: «I'll miss the Ardennes races that I was looking forward to, it hurts to have to watch the races from the sidelines».
Then a lucid analysis and projection towards the future: «This setback gave me time to reset, to reflect, and above all to build even more determination for what awaits me. I've always believed that things happen for a reason, even if it's not always clear».
And in closing, a thank you to those who support her: «Recovery is going well. Better than I expected and this is thanks especially to the people around me who supported me through all of this. Thank you for all the messages and support».
