Who knows what Bepin Drali would have said and thought seeing his brand on the roads of the Milan-Turin and Sanremo races. A small great man, ironic and reserved, quick with his hands and his mind, ready to celebrate with that "little shot" he used to have twice a day, right up until the end, at the threshold of 94 years old. "Vu in de la cinesa a fa la puntura", going over there to the Chinese place to get the shot, he would say. The medicine or shot, as you might call it, was nothing other than Campari, which he would sweeten with a bit of Coca Cola: in short, he lived on Campari and probably from wherever he is now, he celebrated as befits this beautiful milestone of his brand on the roads of the Classicissima.
Born back in 1925, Carlo Drali began the production of frames that marked Italian history by passing the work on to his son Beppe. It all started from a small workshop and step by step it became a point of reference for great champions and a synonym for quality and efficiency. Drali found new life thanks to the gamble taken by Angelo Mantovani, Gianluca Pozzi, Andrea Camerana and Robert Carrara, four friends at a bar who gave that workshop a future still in the Stadera neighborhood (this year they are also sponsoring the Norwegian Team Drali – Repsol, ed. note). A story that continues and grows richer. A story that needs updating and Gianluca Pozzi, the company's CEO, is enriching it with content and initiatives, thanks also to the contribution of Robert Carrara and the reassuring figure of Andrea Camerana, who works behind the scenes, but he's there. He's always there, even to go for a peaceful bike ride: clearly on a Drali.
