The queen stage of the Giro di Sardegna delivered spectacle and crowned Filippo Zana. The rider from Vicenza of Soudal Quick Step broke away from the group of favorites approximately 10 km from the finish and exploited his team's numerical superiority.
An eventful day from Arbatax to Nuoro, characterized by constant attacks from the Belgian team who deserved the solo victory of their captain and, one day from the end, will only need to control the situation to secure the overall classification as well, in which Zana has his teammate Garofoli behind him.
A solid performance from Alessandro Verre (MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort), today second and third in the general classification behind the two "young wolves". Worth noting in today's top ten is the fifth place finish of Davide De Cassan of General Store Essegibi.
Tomorrow the revived Sardinian stage race will conclude with a stage dedicated to the sprinters, which as always tuttobiciweb.it will cover live for you from the start.
