It is the most beautiful and most dreamed-of jersey, the most respected and pursued. And it is to this jersey that Alessandro Freschi and Stefano Sirotti have dedicated their latest literary work: a book titled "World Championship Goal" that tells the story of cycling world championships from 1988 to 2025.
The authors retrace with words and images the wonderful days of cycling world championships starting from Maurizio Fondriest's incredible victory in Renaix in 1988 to arrive at Tadej Pogacar's second consecutive feat, signed last September in Kigali.
The volume, enhanced by contributions from many former riders and industry professionals, does not limit itself to celebrating the professional race but remembers all the events that make up the world championship week.
From this work emerges a work that includes over 500 photographs and countless stories, told through the voices of the protagonists. There are contributions from Igor Astarloa, Alessandro Ballan, Giorgia Bronzini, Alex and Johnny Carera, Davide Cassani, Mauro Gianetti, Oscar Freire, Dmitri Konychev, David Lappartient, Michael Rogers, Ciro Scognamiglio and Leon Van Bon.
Mark the release date - March 7th - and don't miss the appointment.
