Christian Scaroni, the most successful rider of the XDS Astana Team in 2025, has extended his contract with the Sino-Kazakh team for two seasons. The current agreement, valid until 2026, will now last until the end of 2028.

The twenty-eight-year-old from Brescia has experienced a brilliant and memorable season characterized by 5 victories and 10 podiums, accumulating 2,399 points in the UCI individual world ranking. Among Scaroni's main achievements are a stage victory in the Giro d'Italia, overall victory at the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes, third place overall in the Arctic Race of Norway, and fourth place in the road race at the European Championships.

«Christian became a true team leader last season. He started the year with enthusiasm and achieved high-level results throughout the season. In recent years, his progress has been consistent and the breakthrough was only a matter of time. This year everything went in the right direction: Christian's maturity and experience aligned with the overall changes within the team, as well as the motivation and ambition of the entire project. That's why I'm glad that, despite an existing contract, we have agreed on a new agreement» said Alexandr Vinokurov.
