22-year-old Spanish rider Haimar Etxeberria will join the WorldTour by signing with Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe. Etxeberria has demonstrated his strong potential this season, especially in one-day races and challenging sprint finishes. After establishing himself among the top young Iberian talents, his victory at the Vuelta a Castilla y León highlighted him as a rider ready for the next step in his career.
Just yesterday, the consensual contract termination with Equipo Kern Pharma, the Iberian ProTeam where he developed, was announced, and today follows his move to the German team.
Zak Dempster, Sporting Director of Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe, emphasizes: "With Haimar's arrival, we are adding a rider who perfectly fits our long-term vision. Certainly, he is still in the early stages of his career, but his willingness to learn and the talent that make him a true promise in one-day races and challenging sprint finales speak for themselves. We are confident he will find the ideal environment here to continue developing his potential".
Haimar Etxeberria himself adds: "I am very happy to join Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe. From our first meeting, I perceived strong confidence and a clear vision of how I can grow here. I am motivated for this new chapter and excited to contribute to the project. It's a team I have followed closely since Peter Sagan's time. Being on a team alongside the best champions is a special emotion. I am very grateful for the opportunity and for being able to make the jump to the WorldTour at just 22 years old".
