Committed to building the best team to face the significant challenges of the 2026 season, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA continues to strengthen its squad with the arrival of a rider who brings solidity, versatility, and extensive experience in the most important races, despite being only 27 years old. The Italian Stefano Oldani (Milan, 1998) thus becomes the sixth acquisition of the new season, following the arrival of climber José Félix Parra and the promotions from the development team of Ellande Larronde, Iker Villar, Pablo Lospitao, and Gorka Corres.
Oldani will wear the green jersey after completing six seasons at the highest level, equally divided between Lotto Soudal, Alpecin-Deceuninck, and Cofidis. An important journey highlighted by his victory in Genoa during the twelfth stage of the 2022 Giro d'Italia, where he showcased his abilities on undulating terrain and his notable sprint, overcoming his compatriot Lorenzo Rota after masterfully managing a long breakaway.
This victory encapsulates Oldani's characteristics as a cyclist: his keen sense of timing, distinctive speed, combativeness, and tenacity necessary for participating in numerous breakaways. He has participated in the last six editions of the Giro d'Italia, finishing all of them except the 2024 edition. This year, he finished 5th in Nova Gorica and 6th in Valona.
Away from the Giro d'Italia, Oldani has demonstrated his consistency and versatility in one-week races and classics of various styles and profiles, accumulating numerous top-10 finishes and podiums in the Vuelta a Castilla y León, Giro del Limburgo, Coppa Bernocchi, and the overall classification of the Tour de l'Ain. In 2025, he finished seventh at Eschborn-Frankfurt (WT) and eighth at the end of the season at Coppa Agostoni.
"I chose Caja Rural-Seguros RGA because from the very beginning, I felt a special energy, an atmosphere that celebrates human value even more than sporting results. I perceived confidence, a desire to build together, and a concrete feeling of being able to return to the level I have already demonstrated in the past. I needed a place where I would feel part of something, and here I felt exactly that. For the next season, I want to return to my usual level; to be a consistent, reliable rider, capable of winning when it matters. I arrive with great motivation and a desire to show everything I am capable of. I want to continue my work and put my strengths at the service of the team, repaying their trust with commitment and results."
