After Tadej Pogacar's success yesterday at Il Lombardia, it's once again celebration time for UAE on the great cycling roads. Adam Yates won the first edition of the Textile & Fashion Trophy with start in Valdengo and finish at Oropa. The Englishman, fresh from the classic of falling leaves, delivered the 94th seasonal victory to the Emirati team, which easily controlled the race and placed Jay Vine in third place.
Second place went to 22-year-old French rider Mathys Rondel from Tudor Pro Cycling, who tried to make the difference on the final climb that decided this debut race in the Regions Cup. The breakaway that animated the day was neutralized, everything was decided on the slopes towards the Oropa sanctuary, which saw the numerical superiority of UAE Emirates XRG prevail. At the finish line, Christian Scaroni (XDS Astana) was 4th and Matteo Scalco (VF Group Bardiani CSF) 10th.
"Yesterday was an incredibly tough day, but today we were still motivated to achieve another team victory. With Vine and Sivakov we were in good condition and we took advantage of it, I'm happy to close the season with my arms raised," Adam Yates commented right after the race, who will now enjoy his well-deserved vacation.
