He was reassuring, with a presence that did not go unnoticed. A man of absolute caliber, accomplished and therefore listened to. A true professor who deeply loved our sport and our "small parish", as Mario Fossati once defined the world of cycling - clearly not a giant in stature, but certainly a professional.
He was reassuring: if Professor Tredici was there, you could set off. If then his staff with the silent and always available Dr. Massimo Branca was present, then you were all set. Everyone thought so: from riders to sports directors, from the RCS staff to the more or less impressive caravan of Gazzetta-branded races.
It was reassuring to glimpse his car parked outside a restaurant: the professor is here, so the food will be good. It's worth it. With moderation, as he would suggest with a satisfied and sly smile, he who also loved to raise the bar, while sitting at the table.
What a beautiful person, cultured and wise (he was also a writer for tuttoBICI for years), it's a shame to be deprived of people like this, who have given more than they perhaps received, even if from the outside the professor seems to have been abundantly satisfied with consideration, affection, and love. What remains is the regret of losing such precious people, even if we are comforted by what he has left us, in our hearts and beyond. Among the many beautiful things the professor did was creating a school that is now a team, made in his own image and likeness, guided by his son Stefano, who is the continuation of a life that does not end, but renews itself. A beautiful staff that will continue with passion its mission with Dr. Massimo Branca, a travel companion, guaranteeing its continuity: and this too is reassuring.
