Jonathan Milan and Lidl Trek will continue to pedal together for (at least) the next four seasons: the green jersey from the last Tour has signed a contract extension until 2029.
In just two seasons, Milan has established himself as one of the strongest sprinters in the group. His debut year with Lidl-Trek colors started brilliantly, as the Italian quickly felt comfortable with the lead train built around him. He won 11 victories in 2024, including three Giro d'Italia stages and his second consecutive Cyclamen Jersey.
In 2025, Milan has already added eight more victories to his tally, at least so far: his greatest success came in July, when he made his Tour de France debut and immediately secured the Green Jersey. With a strong team around him, Milan won two stages and, after three tough weeks, was awarded the Green Jersey on the Champs-Élysées: the dream of every sprinter.
At just 24 years old, Milan is becoming faster with each passing season, and with loyal teammates Edward Theuns and Simone Consonni confirmed until 2027, the foundations are laid for even greater success.
"The atmosphere at Lidl-Trek is truly special, this has quickly become like a second family to me, and that makes an enormous difference when you give everything on the bike. We have already shared some incredible moments, and I am truly proud of what we have achieved together so far: stage wins in Grand Tours, leader jerseys, and always fighting together as a single team. Lidl-Trek has truly become my home, so it felt like a natural decision to extend my contract until the end of 2029. The commitment Lidl-Trek has shown me and the support and confidence they give me as I continue to grow as a cyclist keep me motivated for what is yet to come. I feel really lucky to have the opportunity to race with this group of champions and I am constantly amazed by the work of my teammates and grateful for what they do to help me try to cross the finish line first. I truly believe we can continue to raise the bar and chase even bigger goals together."
"Before signing Jonny in 2024, we knew he was a great talent for the future, but in the two subsequent years he has exceeded even our expectations - said Luca Guercilena, General Manager of Lidl-Trek -. Jonny has integrated perfectly with the Team and, together with his train, has created one of the most effective sprint set-ups in the group. What he has achieved in just two seasons is remarkable, and with four more years to come, we are excited to see how high he can go. His raw power and top-end speed are extraordinary, but equally impressive is his humility and the way he appreciates his teammates. We are proud to continue this journey with him and confident that even greater victories await us."
