The Team Jayco AlUla adds experience to its ranks by signing former Belgian national champion Dries De Bondt, who will join with a two-year contract starting from 2026.
Native of Bornem, he will be the first Belgian rider in nine years to race for the GreenEDGE Cycling men's team, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge formed over nearly a decade of professional racing.
In his career, De Bondt has won the national road race championship, secured a beautiful Giro d'Italia stage victory, and has a series of one-day race wins. Beyond being a rider comfortable in the tough one-day classics, the Flandrien will add depth to the team as a valuable team player and proven loyal domestique in the Grand Tours.
Dries De Bondt comments: "I have always seen this team as one of the most exceptional and exciting teams in the WorldTour, a team that races with heart, ambition, and a clear identity. That's why I am incredibly proud and excited to join them. From the next season, I will proudly wear the beautiful jersey of Team Jayco AlUla, ready to give my all and tackle the Classics with full commitment and determination. It is a true honor to be part of this team, and I hope to enjoy the journey for the next two years. I can't wait to grow together with this team and create our successes in the future."
Brent Copeland, Team General Manager, adds: "We are happy to welcome Dries to the team for the next two years. He brings with him a lot of experience after a long and successful career, and his knowledge and racing style will be a great and invaluable resource for the team. We see him fitting well in the Classics group, but in the past, he has also demonstrated his value in Grand Tours, winning a Giro stage and working tirelessly as an important team companion. He is an aggressive and intelligent rider who knows how to read the race at every stage and will be very useful for our team."
