Everything is ready in Poggiana di Riese Pio X (Tv) for the 49th GP Sportivi di Poggiana which on Sunday will also award the 49th Bonin Costruzioni Trophy and the 2G Verniciatura Grand Prix.

The work done in recent months by the entire Uc Asolo Bike Poggiana staff, led by President Giampietro Bonin and his Vice President Loris Civiero, will allow for a great celebration day. The 2025 "Stars Combat" will once again see the best of international cycling competing on the roads of the Marca Trevigiana.

"It's always a great emotion for us to see the best Under 23 teams in the world arrive on our roads. We work an entire year to bring this event to life and, this year too, we are ready to welcome athletes, teams, and fans for an extraordinary day," explained President Giampietro Bonin. "This year again, the best talents of international cycling will compete on our track: the formula we chose in 2024 will allow fans to follow the race closely without missing the opportunity to watch the finish in Poggiana. And for those who will follow it from home, starting at 3:30 PM in live streaming, it will be a true spectacle. I want to thank in advance the over 180 volunteers who will be engaged on the course to ensure athlete safety and all necessary services. A special thanks goes to the board members, starting with Vice President Loris Civiero, to the law enforcement, and to all sponsors who, with their precious contribution, make this event possible. The convinced and passionate support of realities like 2G Verniciatura, Elettrica B&C, Surfaces, GSG, Banca delle Terre Venete, together with many other local companies and partners, is a source of pride and stimulus to always do better".

THE FAVORITES - 176 athletes make up the list of registrants for this international Under 23 event, opening with bib number 1 assigned to Piedmontese Manuel Oioli (MBH Bank Ballan CSB) who last year finished second behind Jorgen Nordhagen. Alongside Oioli will be Lorenzo Masciarelli, Lorenzo Nespoli, and Edoardo Cipollini. Also worth watching are Filippo Turconi (VF Group Bardiani), winner of the Piva Trophy, and Marco Schrettl (Tirol KTM), winner of the San Vendemiano international.

Among the final success contenders are undoubtedly the first pink jersey of Giro Next Gen Matthias Schwarzbacher (UAE), the winner of the Gp Sportivi di Briga, Nicolò Arrighetti (Biesse Carrera), the winner of Zanè-Monte Cengio, the Swiss Nicola Zumsteg (Vc Mendrisio) and the Danish climber Kevin Biehl (General Store).

Also notable are the presences of Dario Igor Belletta (Solme Olmo), vice-Italian road champion, and the Italian time trial champion, Davide Donati (RedBull Bora Hansgrohe), along with the ambitions of Irish champion Adam Rafferty (Hagens Berman Jayco), Croatian national champion Nicolas Gojkovic (Pogi Team Ljubljana) and Uruguayan champion Ciro Perez Alvarez (MG K Vis). To be followed closely are the performances of the son of art Santiago Basso (Bahrain Victorious), Matteo Scalco (VF Group Bardiani CSF), Ludovico Mellano (Astana), Andrea Alfio Bruno (Hopplà), Mirko Bozzola (Padovani Polo Cherry Bank) and Marco Martini (Technipes Inemiliaromagna).

THE ROUTE - Formula confirmed from 2024 for the track, albeit with some small modifications. 164.5 kilometers are scheduled which will include a first completely flat part drawn on the local circuit to be repeated four times. Then moving to the Hill Circuit characterized by the climbs of Cassanego and Santa Lucia to be faced four times before returning to Poggiana where one last flat lap must be completed before knowing the name of Jorgen Nordhagen's successor.

LIVE STREAMING - Also for the 2025 edition of the Gp Sportivi di Poggiana, the decisive stages of the race will be broadcast live streaming, starting at 3:30 PM on the YouTube channel of Ciclismoweb.net with commentary by Silvio Martinello and reports from the finish area by Annachiara Dinale.

5 JERSEYS UP FOR GRABS - Also in this 2025, the Gp Sportivi di Poggiana will award five official jerseys: the winner will get the yellow 2G Verniciatura jersey, the second-place finisher the black Elettrica B&C jersey, the third-place finisher the orange Surfaces jersey, the KOM classification winner the blue Banca delle Terre Venete jersey, and the most combative rider the multicolored GSG jersey.
