Professional since 2017, Edward Planckaert has signed an agreement with Soudal Quick-Step, which will see him race for the Wolfpack until the end of 2028. Originally from Kortrijk, Planckaert has demonstrated his quality in both stage races and one-day events, and in group sprints, where his abilities have often made a significant difference for his team's results.
«I started cycling when I was only eight years old, dreaming of one day joining a team like Soudal Quick-Step, and I am incredibly happy that this dream will finally become a reality next year. I have always admired the fighting spirit of the Wolfpack and the way they always race with heart, so joining this team from 2026 onwards is something truly special. As a proud Flandrien, I am ready to give my all and help my leaders and the team achieve as many victories as possible» said Edward, whose favorite races are Paris-Roubaix and La Vuelta.
«As we continue to strengthen our team for the next season, we are signing Edward, who is a rider that can perform well in many different races and scenarios. He has shown what he is capable of since joining the World Tour and this makes us confident that his support and experience in the Classics, Grand Tours, and flat finishes can help us when it matters most» explained Jürgen Foré, CEO of Soudal Quick-Step.
