Italian cycling still without victories in the 2025 Giro d'Italia. After the first 15 stages, this had only happened once before, in 2017, when Vincenzo Nibali eventually broke the drought by winning stage 16 in Bormio (the only joy for our colors that year). Italian placements among the top three in the 2025 Corsa Rosa are currently 5 (one second and four third places), the same number as the first 15 stages of 2017 (though in that case four second and one third place).
So far, 12 riders have won stages in the 2025 Giro, representing 7 nations. Pedersen is the only one to celebrate more than once (4 times precisely) and is also the 11th rider of the new millennium to win at least 4 stages in a single edition. Denmark is the nation with the most victories (5 including Asgreen's), while the Netherlands boasts the highest number of podium placements (8 in total).
In total, 75 riders have placed at least once among the top ten and 169 remain in the race after 15 stages (a figure that will change today, as you've read that several riders have announced their withdrawal), therefore 19 more than at the same point in 2024 and 38 more compared to stage 15 of 2023. The withdrawals in this second week have been two, Rivera and Ciccone. Mexican rider Isaac Del Toro is the current leader and the cyclist with the most days in the pink jersey in this edition (7).
