Isaac del Toro spent another day in the pink jersey and, to avoid risks, he and his teammates stayed at the front. His UAE Emirates team well controlled the stage, which turned out to be more challenging than they had thought. "Fortunately, I didn't take any risks and even though I thought it would be a bit easier, in the end it went well".

The Mexican is not looking too far ahead and prefers to enjoy every moment of the pink jersey he has on his shoulders. In the team, Ayuso and Yates are the riders chosen from the beginning as team leaders, and the young Mexican will have to respect the hierarchies chosen by the management. "I'm not thinking about the rest of the Giro d'Italia, I'm only thinking about having dinner right now because I'm tired. My biggest fear from here to the end of the Giro is falling. I want to finish the race without crashes. The post-stage is a bit stressful, but I don't feel tired, maybe I will be in a few days".

Even in the sprinters' stages, UAE Emirates must pay a lot of attention, because when the group prepares for sprints, crashes can happen.

"In my mind and with the team, we want to try to get through the sprinters' stages unscathed. Today we thought the breakaway would take a good advantage and they would be the ones fighting for the Red Bull bonus seconds, but when we saw that the other big teams' squads were also moving to the front and there wasn't such a big gap, we also positioned ourselves at the front and it's nice to take seconds from our rivals, and I'm happy about that".

The leaders, however, remain Ayuso and Yates, and Del Toro, even in the pink jersey, will have to follow the team's decisions. The young UAE Emirates rider wanted to emphasize the good atmosphere in the team, especially with the other leaders. "Every cyclist dreams of winning the Giro d'Italia, but I know I'll have to wait. The relationship between me, Ayuso, and Yates is the same as before, I work for them and sometimes it happens that they work for me. But the race has put us in this situation and it's good for the team. We have the pink jersey, we're happy, and we have an excellent relationship even outside the race".
