A shock, a surprising news. GreenEDGE Cycling announces a restructuring of the Performance Group that will see Matthew White leaving the organization with immediate effect, marking the end of an extraordinary chapter in the team's history.
As stated in the official communication from the Australian team: "White, a long-time team member, has been a central figure in the growth and identity of GreenEDGE since its inception. His passion, leadership, and tactical insight have led to unforgettable successes: stage wins in Grand Tours, victories in important one-day races, and the continuous development of the team's high-performance programs." White, who was recently appointed High Performance & Racing Director, has inspired and guided a new generation of staff and cyclists over the past decade. As the team looks to the future, a restructuring will allow GreenEDGE Cycling to face new challenges and seize new opportunities.
General Manager Brent Copeland reflected on White's personal impact: "Matt was more than a Sports Director: he was a mentor, a leader, and a friend to many. His tireless dedication and commitment to our riders have left a deep mark on this team. We are sincerely grateful to him and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career".
The team's owner, Gerry Ryan, also paid tribute to White: "Matt has been part of our dream from the beginning, guiding our athletes through some of their most important moments and helping to build a team culture rooted in authentic values. Although it's time for changes, Matt will always remain part of the GreenEDGE family".
GreenEDGE Cycling - which manages the WorldTour teams Jayco AlUla in the men's category and Liv AlUla Jayco in the women's category - is facing its 14th season of history: new appointments, the communication concludes, will be announced in the coming months.
