Saturday, May 10th and Sunday, May 11th mark an exceptional cycling event in the Marche region: the eighth edition of the Marche Women's Tour kicks off, presenting itself in a renewed format.
Unlike its traditional September placement, the event has been moved to May and condensed into a compact two-day format.
The competition dedicated to elite, under-23, and junior categories starts from Offida on Saturday afternoon with a 92-kilometer stage and concludes on Sunday morning in Corridonia with a second 90-kilometer stage.
150 athletes are expected at the start, including three international teams from Australia, Mexico, and France, with the participation of the Ukrainian National Team, signaling an increasingly established event at the continental level.
Saturday's race is organized by the Ciclo Amanti society, led by President Gianni Spaccasassi, with the start at 2:00 PM from Via della Repubblica.
The route develops on a 6-kilometer circuit to be repeated 8 times, not very demanding with only the climb on Via Cavour, followed by another 7 laps of almost the same length on a slightly modified circuit.
At the end of the day, five symbolic jerseys will be awarded: Pink (sponsored by Ambedo Tornitori) for the general classification leader, Blue for mountain grand prix (Max Impianti) for the best climber, Green for flying sprints (Fanini) for the best sprinter, White (Totaro) for the best young rider, and Yellow (Peroni) for the best foreign rider, along with jerseys for the new regional champions in junior, under-23, and elite categories under the auspices of the FCI Marche regional committee.
On Sunday, May 11th, the event moves to Corridonia for the second and final stage of the Marche Women's Tour, called the 12th National Pink Day - GP City of Corridonia (Fisiomed Trophy-Supermercati SI con Te Cup), organized by the Corridonia Club, led by President Mario Cartechini. The start is scheduled for 9:30 AM for a total route of 90 kilometers, including four 17-kilometer laps and then another route segment with flying sprints in Corridonia and Petriolo, with the final finish in the Macerata city.
The Corridonia race will be dedicated to the memory of Sara Piffer, the young cyclist tragically passed away during a training session on January 24th. A heartfelt and dutiful tribute to a talented athlete who triumphed in Corridonia last year. Her parents will be present at the event in a moment of deep emotion and solidarity from the entire women's cycling movement.
At the end of this stage, the awards ceremony will take place for the stage winner and the overall winner, who will be crowned the queen of the 2025 Marche Women's Tour, along with other protagonists of the various classifications.
Thus will conclude two intense days showcasing a cycling spectacle of great value, with the Marche region increasingly recognized as a champion of women's cycling, capable of hosting high-level events and fueling passion for this sport.
