From May 31st to June 1st, the great emotions of GeoGravel Tuscany - The Grey Roads return, an event that has already warmed the hearts of gravel lovers, making them fall in love with the metalliferous hills. Among ancient villages, Mediterranean scrub, and nature reserves, this is a journey born from Paolo Bettini's dream, who once again tells us about his expectations for the third edition, rich with welcome returns and some interesting novelties.

Paolo, what does "gravel" mean to you?
"Gravel for me is freedom. It's about cycling without a stopwatch, without hurry, without the weight of performance. It's immersing yourself in nature, crossing authentic and often forgotten places, where the bike becomes just a means to discover and experience the territory. It's not just cycling: it's a way of living and looking at the world with new eyes."

A reason to participate in GeoGravel Tuscany - The Grey Roads?
"GeoGravel Tuscany - The Grey Roads is made of people. But above all, it's an immersion in an extraordinary territory, among the hills of Val di Cecina, untouched woods, medieval villages, and the silence of nature reserves. It's unique, authentic, poetic like the land it crosses. And then we party together: beers, music, barbecues, the classic pasta party, and lots of sharing spirit. The gravel spirit is everywhere. You're guaranteed to have fun."

What are the novelties of this year's routes?
"We wanted to bring back the soul of the very first edition. The Ultra route, for example, completely changes this year: from Pomarance, we enter the extraordinary Monterufoli - Caselli Nature Reserve, a true journey into wild nature on long unpaved stretches perfect for gravel. We cross woods, hills, and pure adventure sections to Casale Marittimo and then down towards Bibbona, where you can breathe the sea. The return is a ride through the Mediterranean scrub, between Canneto, Monterotondo Marittimo, and Sasso Pisano, until returning to Pomarance. It's a route that speaks of true Tuscany, of effort and beauty. The Long route has also been renewed to offer even more immersion in the lesser-known but most authentic landscapes of the area."
