In Reda di Faenza, in the province of Ravenna, the Caduti di Reda Cup is a historic and symbolic event for the entire community, since its first edition in 1946. And this year, preparations are in full swing for the organizing group of the cycling touring society La Rôda Reda ahead of the 49th Caduti di Reda Cup, a national cycling race for Elite and Under 23 riders scheduled for tomorrow.

The maximum number of athletes is expected at the start: 200 riders will compete, representing 34 sports societies from nine Italian Regions and with the international touch of the English Zappi Racing Team by Flavio Zappi, based in Riolo Terme. There are also ten nationalities of registered athletes five days before the start: besides Italy, also Albania, Colombia, Denmark, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, United States, Ukraine, and Hungary.

Of notable quality is the organization, led by president Danilo Costa, together with Giovanni Picio Calderoni and the entire passionate staff who every year provide their fundamental contribution, for a race that in almost fifty years of history has seen illustrious winners.
Among the great names in the Caduti di Reda Cup's honor roll, Olympic gold medalist Elia Viviani (winner in 2009) stands out, while in 2024, Tuscan rider Tommaso Nencini (Zalf Euromobil Désirée Fior), recently prominent in the Milano-Sanremo with a long breakaway, took the victory.

The 49th Caduti di Reda Cup (offered by Eta Beta Forlì), also called "Gran Premio Eta Beta - Conclima SGR" and 43rd Stefano Cornacchia Memorial, is also valid as the 70th Giro della Romagna and as a stage of the 33rd Il Cappello D'Oro Trophy. The Caduti di Reda Cup also has the patronage of Emilia-Romagna Region, Province of Ravenna and Municipality of Faenza, along with the precious support of Eta Beta, Conclima, Banca Fideuram, Carmellini, Frigomeccanica and T. Service Agency.

The route involves minor modifications but maintains the characteristics that over time have made it known in Romagna and throughout Italy as the "corsa di Sët Strëpp", meaning the "race of seven steep climbs" in dialect.

The unofficial start is scheduled for 1 PM, after the commemoration at the Reda War Memorial and before remembering Stefano Cornacchia during the transfer; official start at 1:15 PM.

From the start in Reda, with three passages under the finish line, the first 40 km remain unchanged, with flying sprints at via Corleto and the Trattoria La Miseria in Prada. The first GPM is Monte Carla, to be tackled twice (km 53 and 72), then Monticino (km 81), Cima Vernelli (km 95), Rio Chiè (km 117), Monte Carla again (km 127), then the two flying sprints (TV) on the steep climbs of Cima Agello (km 133) and Monte Brullo (km 137) before climbing the 7th and final GPM at Cima San Biagio Antico (km 140.5), 15 kilometers from the finish line again in Reda di Faenza. The arrival after 155.9 km of racing is expected around 5 PM.

Even in 2025, the route lends itself to various outcomes, and the finale will always be particularly contested, with the possibility of seeing on the final straight in Reda a group of athletes capable of making a difference on the steep climbs, solo attackers or sprints from larger groups with fast but resistant riders, able to survive the climbs and compete in the final sprint.
