A door that reopens when it seemed destined to close, an unexpected opportunity that materializes just before the holidays. Andrea Colnaghi will continue his career in 2025 and will do so wearing the jersey of the Hungarian Continental team Karcag Cycling.

"In recent months, I've been looking for a team for 2025 for a long time. All attempts seemed futile, and so I was ready to implement plan B, taking courses to become a masseur" he tells tuttobiciweb, the 27-year-old from Lecco, who in November had shared some farewell lines on Social media about competitive cycling.

Then came the outstretched hand from Ferenc Stubán, General Manager of Karcag Cycling, with a past as a rider in Ora Hotels and Sports Director in Utensilnord. "I met Ferenc, he was looking for a rider with my characteristics, and here I am" declares Andrea, whose signing was officially announced on New Year's Day by the Hungarian team.

The Lombard cyclist's agenda is filling up these days. "At the end of January, I'll be engaged in Calpe at the training camp organized by the team, on that occasion I'll meet my new teammates. Regarding races, I currently only have a draft calendar, we have several races planned together with Pro teams" says the twin of Davide and older brother of Luca, an athlete with VF Group - Bardiani CSF – Faizanè.

After a 2024 that he himself defines as "ups and downs" during which, however, with the ONEC Team jersey he nearly won the Trofeo Città di San Giovanni Valdarno and obtained other significant placements, Andrea has clear objectives for the year that has just begun: "To get noticed in important races and be helpful to the team".
