SCORZÈ, 50 YEARS OF CYCLOCROSS: ALL SET FOR TWO DAYS OF CELEBRATION!

The cyclocross race scheduled for next Sunday, December 29th in Scorzè, in the province of Venice, will mark the fiftieth anniversary of its birth and has always been sponsored by Cartoveneta.
It is an extraordinary event that will be preceded by an extremely important celebratory event planned for Saturday, December 28th at the Elios-Aldò Municipal Theater hall in the Venetian city, starting at 5 PM. It will be an event that will retrace the history of cyclocross in Scorzè, which in addition to the 50 editions of the Cartoveneta Trophy has also organized two Italian Championships, two Youth Italy Cup Trials, and three International races.
The competition began in 1974 thanks to the organization of Igino Michieletto and the late secretary, Giuseppe Bertoldo. The race on December 29th is also valid for the 10th stage of the 45th Triveneto Cyclocross Trophy and will be a truly special event, as noted by the president of the organizing association of the Libertas Scorzè Sports Center, Mario Pollon. For the occasion, jerseys will be awarded for the Champions of the Metropolitan City of Venice, the Regional Championship for Competitive Categories, and the "Top Class" scores.
Work is being done to ensure a high-level participation and naturally, in addition to the large number of athletes registered in the youth categories, for the Open races, among the women there will be the multiple-time Italian champion, Eva Lechner, her Albanian colleague, Nelia Kabetj, then Beatrice Fontana, Elisa Ferri, and Elisa Bianchi. Among the male Open riders, the names that stand out are the national champion Filippo Fontana, who will have to face representatives from the Carabinieri Sports Group of the caliber of Daniele Braidot, Emanuele Huez, Cristian Cominelli, Martino Fruet, Tommas Ferri, brothers Nicolas and Lorenzo Samparisi, Simone Pederiva, and many others.
