ADISPRO 2024 CONFERENCE. PRESIDENT GOETZ AND THE ASSOCIATION BOARD CONFIRMED

The annual conference of ADISPRO (Italian Professional Sports Directors Association) was held yesterday at the Sullivan Restaurant & Hotel in Ponte San Marco, Brescia. This important meeting for sports directors, with over 90 attendees, also included the election of the president and board of directors. The voting confirmed attorney Davide Goetz as the number one of ADISPRO for the next four years. The outgoing board was also entirely confirmed, composed of: Mario Chiesa (secretary general), Luca Guercilena, Fabio Baldato, Bruno Cenghialta, Andrea Peschi, and Fabio Miozzo. At the conference, the President of the Italian Cycling Federation Cordiano Dagnoni and the President of the Cycling League, Honorable Roberto Pella, were present. "I want to thank our members for the trust they place in me and the Council. Even in a difficult situation for our sport, Italian sports directors are trying to do their part by contributing constructively to the dialogue and engaging with various stakeholders," were the first words of the re-elected president Davide Goetz. Several topics were discussed during the works, including nutrition, communication in sports, and regulations. On the topic of safety, which is of great current international relevance, ADISPRO expressed a clear position in favor of race radios, considered a fundamental element in ensuring athlete safety. During the conference, there was also space for another important topic: tax deductions for sponsorships. "This is a theme that we as an Association support," explained President Davide Goetz. "Tax deductions would allow companies to invest in both youth and professional cycling, ensuring that such investments create benefits for the companies themselves while supporting the revival of the entire movement." As per established tradition, the "Golden Helm" award was presented, which for 2024 went to Domenico Garbelli, born in 1943, a historic sports director from Lodi by birth but residing in Bergamo, who has spanned 70 years of cycling first as an athlete and then from the '70s as a highly respected sports director.
