A Night of Strong Emotions, a Fantastic Oscar Night. Once again - and this was the 30th edition of a beautiful story - cycling stars illuminated the Milanese night at the end of a very long cycling season. The tutto BICI grand gala did not disappoint expectations, taking place in the splendid setting of the Principe di Savoia Hotel in the presence of champions, entrepreneurs, technicians, and journalists: the heart of the evening was the presentation of Oscars to the best athletes of the 2024 season.
The evening was hosted by the tried-and-tested duo of Riccardo Magrini and Luca Gregorio, the voices of Eurosport. With their wit, Greg and Magro coordinated the parade of Oscar winners.
Opening the series of awards was Nicole Bracco from Cuneo, the best female newcomer, followed by Carlo Ceccarello from Padua and Riccardo Longo from Cremona, winners respectively among First and Second Year Beginners.
Then the Veneto native Lorenzo Campagnolo and Maria Acuti from Mantua among the Juniors, the Friulian Chantal Pegolo and the Genoese - world champion in the category - Lorenzo Mark Finn among the Juniors, the Bergamo native Sergio Meris among the Élite, the Verona native Edoardo Zamperini among the Under 23.
For the seventh time in her career - an absolute record, equaling Fabiana Luperini - Elisa Longo Borghini won the tutto BICI Oscar for Elite Women, while Jonathan Milan did what no one had ever done before, winning the Oscar both as the best young rider and best professional: "It's a great honor for me, but I consider this only as an important step towards something even greater that I want to achieve," said the Friulian giant.
The recognition for best coach went to the Italian track coach Marco Villa, who secured it for the fourth time in his career, while Giovanni Bruno - a historic Sky Sport commentator, in love with cycling - was awarded the Lucia and Pietro Rodella Prize.
And then a special award for the Guerciotti family who celebrated 60 years of their history in 2024, started in 1964 thanks to Paolo Guerciotti, first an example of a rider and entrepreneur, then an organizer and manager, now supported in leading the company by his children Alessandro and Micaela.
