Under the leaden sky of Plouay, Mischa Bredewold shines once again. The Dutch rider from SD Worx Protime conquers her third consecutive victory at the Classic Lorient Agglomération, sprinting ahead of her compatriots Marianne Vos and Eline Jansen, with Eleonora Gasparrini immediately behind the podium. A masterful performance by the former European champion, who was forced to chase 25 kilometers from the finish after being involved in a crash.
The 165-kilometer race came to life shortly after the start, when Silvia Zanardi (Human Powered Health) broke away from the group with Henrietta Christie (EF Education-Oatly) and Yuliia Biriukova (Laboral Kutxa - Fundación Euskadi). As the kilometers passed, other riders joined the leading trio, forming a large breakaway group that included Silvia Persico (UAE Team ADQ), Steffi Häberlin (Team SD Worx – Protime), Blanka Vas (Team SD Worx – Protime), Nina Buijsman (FDJ – SUEZ), Coralie Demay (FDJ – SUEZ), Shirin van Anrooij (Lidl – Trek), Lucinda Brand (Lidl – Trek), Anastasiya Kolesava (CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto), Margaux Vigié (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), Evy Kuijpers (Fenix-Deceuninck), Alexandra Manly (AG Insurance - Soudal Team), Julia Borgström (AG Insurance - Soudal Team), Susanne Andersen (Uno-X Mobility), Silke Smulders (Liv AlUla Jayco), Jeanne Korevaar (Liv AlUla Jayco), Magdeleine Vallieres (EF Education-Oatly), Célia Le Mouel (CERATIZIT Pro Cycling Team), Josie Nelson (Team Picnic PostNL) and Sabrina Stultiens (VolkerWessels Cycling Team).
From the leading group, Stultiens herself, her compatriot Brand, and British rider Nelson further broke away. At 50 kilometers from the finish, they were reported with a 45" advantage over the chasing peloton led by UAE Team ADQ, Picnic PostNL, and Movistar. Through continuous ups and downs of the course, Brand and Stultiens remained at the front, arriving at the first finish line passage with 50" over former breakaway companion Nelson and 1'00" over the group that soon reeled in the British rider.
On the Côte du Lezot, the group ignited: Femke de Vries (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) attacked, followed by Elisa Longo Broghini (UAE Team ADQ), Cédrine Kerbaol (EF Education-Oatly), and Eleonora Camilla Gasparrini (UAE Team ADQ). The continuous attacks thinned the main group and favored the counterattack by Eleonora Gasparrini, Femke de Vries, and Franziska Koch. In the last ten kilometers, the leading pair was caught by the three immediate chasers, while the Longo Borghini group was reported 25" behind.
With 4 kilometers to go, the forcing by Liane Lippert, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, and Longo Borghini brought the group back to the women at the front.
