On July 5th, the Tour de France 2025 will start from Lille, and Intermarché-Wanty will present itself at the start with the ambition to perform well, just as they did last year when Biniam Girmay won three stage victories and the green jersey. The Eritrean sprinter, the first African athlete to win the green jersey, will tackle his third grand tour with his faithful teammates Hugo Page and Laurenz Rex, who played a key role in his historic triple last year. Both riders are supported by good form that is growing as the French event approaches. Page recently secured sixth place in the new World Tour classic in Copenhagen, while Rex has consistently landed in the top 10 at Paris-Roubaix, Gent-Wevelgem, and Bruges-De Panne.
The Belgian team's train is also supported by 24-year-old Vito Braet and the Dutchman Roel van Sintmaartensdijk, the first talent from the Wanty-NIPPO-ReUz development structure to participate in the Tour de France. The contribution of the tireless Jonas Rutsch will also be valuable, who has impressed since joining the team this season with several breakaways, particularly securing sixth place at Paris-Roubaix.
A new face at the Tour, just like Braet and Van Sintmaartensdijk, Louis Barré represents the spring revelation. The 25-year-old Frenchman continues to improve since joining the team and can boast sixth place at the Amstel Gold Race and a recent eighth place at the Giro dell'Appennino.
Finally, Georg Zimmermann, at his fifth Tour de France with Intermarché-Wanty. The 27-year-old German climber, who contributed to Girmay's success last summer, distinguished himself during the Tour, nearly winning in 2023 with a second place in Issoire. Last April, he reached a new milestone in his career by winning his first stage race, the Giro d'Abruzzo.
