Romagna cycling has lost its quintessential storyteller: Bruno Achilli, a journalist, passed away in the city of Trinidad, Cuba, where he had been living for several years. He was 73 years old and even with his choice to move to Cuba, he had not lost his passion for cycling and remained constantly in touch via social media with friends, teams, and athletes.
Achilli was also a member of the Italy-Cuba association and committed himself to delivering medical, computer, and sports equipment, particularly for cyclists, to his new homeland.
"He worked for Longarini's Gazettes, then became Corriere di Romagna, and later for Carlino, including as a correspondent for the white chronicle of Cattolica and Misano; he was a television personality, first on TeleRubicone and then on Teleromagna: his Wednesday evening show was eagerly awaited by enthusiasts, as were his articles about weekend amateur races, and he would always demand more space from his print media colleagues who managed sports pages" recalls colleague Stefano Ferri on Altarimini.it
In Romagna, he was an authentic institution, loved by managers but especially by riders and fans, the same people who now mourn his passing.
