Si è alzato il sipario sul calendario italiano degli Elite e Under 23 e il Team Unieuro Wilier Trevigiani ha dimostrato di essere la squadra da battere. Alla Coppa San Geo, nel Bresciano, la formazione blu arancio ha messo in scena una spendida doppietta grazie al finale da manuale di Davide Ballerini e Lorenzo Rota che con autorevolezza sono andati a prendersi il primo e il secondo posto. La corsa, animata per la prima parte da una fuga a 9 tra cui figurava il nostro Mattia Frapporti e da un successivo attacco a 2, si è decisa negli ultimi 20 km quando i ragazzi diretti da Marco Milesi e Andrea Giacomin hanno preso in mano le redini della situazione. «Negli ultimi due giri abbiamo provato a fare selezione rimanendo in una ventina di unità. Dopodichè con Rota abbiamo attaccato ancora portando via un gruppetto di 4 atleti tra cui però c'era poco accordo. Quando ormai i giochi sembravano fatti ho cercato di anticipare la volata del gruppo e non sono stato più ripreso. Sono molto contento, dopo aver avuto la fortuna di disputare alcune corse con i professionisti sapevo di stare bene e avere una buona gamba. Sono felice la vittoria sia arrivata già alla prima corsa dell'anno tra i dilettanti» racconta Davide Ballerini dopo aver tagliato il traguardo di Prevalle a braccia alzate. Secondo il team manager Massimo Rabbaglio un plauso va anche al lavoro di squadra di Rino Gasparrini, Davide Plebani, Giovanni Carboni, Francesco Chesi, Giovanni Pedretti e Mattia Frapporti: «I ragazzi sono stati tutti eccezionali, hanno controllato la corsa dal primo all'ultimo chilometro, hanno meritato questa vittoria. Ballerini ha avuto un tempismo perfetto e Rota ha saputo regolare il gruppo regalandoci un uno-due da applausi. Non potevo chiedere niente di più alla mia prima corsa in ammiraglia del 2015». Il GP Izola in Slovenia il 1° marzo sarà la prossima corsa a cui parteciperà il Team Unieuro Wilier Trevigiani. Then me and Rota attacked taking away a group of four athletes but there was little agreement. Just when the games seemed to be made I tried to anticipate the sprint of the group and I managed to arrived first. I'm very happy, having had the oportunity to participate in some professional races in the past weeks I knew I have good legs. I'm glad the victory has arrived at the first race of the year» says Davide Balleriniafter crossing the finish line of Prevalle arms up. According to team manager Massimo Rabbaglio praise also goes to the team work of Rino Gasparrini, Davide Plebani, Giovanni Carboni, Francesco Chesi, Giovanni Pedretti and Mattia Frapporti: «The guys were all super today, they controlled the race from start to finish, they have deserved this victory. Ballerini showed perfect timing and Rota regulated the group giving us a doble joy. I could not ask for anything more in my first 2015 race in the car».
