Some people celebrate a victory like the Giro di Lombardia by resting for a few days. And then there's Paul Seixas. The French talent, who starred on Saturday with his success in the Classica delle Foglie Morte, just 15 hours later was back wearing a number on his back, presenting himself at the start of the famous Roc d'Azur mountain bike race.
A choice that tells better than any result the visceral love of the young Frenchman for cycling in all its forms. Seixas finished the race in 64th place, 18 minutes behind the winner, his fellow countryman Jordan Sarrou.
"I wanted to have fun. I followed the group at the beginning until the course became too technical, because I could see there were guys there to race and I didn't want to get in the way. At the first descent I realized that technically I couldn't keep up with their pace, so I moved aside and let them pass. I waited for Bruno Armirail and we completed the course together. It was nice, I had fun and I pedaled at a relaxed pace," Seixas said at the end of the race.
