It didn't race, but it was a major protagonist alongside the riders on the roads of the women's and men's Giro dell'Emilia. It didn't race because its role is to help athletes and all of us feel better thanks to its extraordinary properties. It didn't race but on the podium it was applauded, very much applauded. And naturally much appreciated.
We're talking about Redoro Oil, which yesterday was presented to Alessia Vigilia, the splendid winner of the women's race, as well as to world champion Brandon McNulty and finally to Nairo Quintana, who just yesterday at Emilia raced in the final race of a splendid career.
The connection between Redoro and cycling doesn't stem from a simple visibility operation. Extra virgin olive oil, a fundamental element of the Mediterranean diet, indeed reflects a model of balanced nutrition, attention to health and daily care of the person.
These are the same values expressed by sport: physical activity, consistency, prevention, respect for the body and the pursuit of well-being. Cycling, in particular, is a discipline that brings together physical activity, contact with nature, capacity for sacrifice and knowledge of territories.
«Extra virgin olive oil and cycling share the same culture of well-being», emphasizes Daniele Salvagno, president of Redoro Frantoi Veneti. «Being present at major sporting events means promoting a healthy and conscious lifestyle. But it also means telling the world beyond our borders an Italian product that is born from the work of olive growers, from the protection of the territory and from a production tradition passed down through generations».
The international presence at the Giro dell'Emilia completes a journey that in 2026 has seen Redoro engaged alongside some important cycling events.
At the Giro d'Italia, Redoro was the official product of the Corsa Rosa, linking Italian extra virgin oil to one of the most well-known and followed sporting events in the world. The commitment continued in women's cycling, with the sponsorship of the White Jersey of the Giro d'Italia Women, dedicated to the best young rider in the standings.
Redoro also supported the Memorial Pantani, an event that keeps alive the memory of one of the most beloved champions of Italian cycling, and the Golden Week of Borgo Valsugana, an appointment dedicated to youth cycling.
In Valsugana, from the Golden Cup, reserved for the youngest, to the Gold Cup for Juniors, thousands of boys and girls took to the road. A particularly significant choice, because investing in youth sport means supporting education, growth, sociability and respect for the rules.
With its presence at the Tour of Slovakia, Redoro further consolidated a strategy capable of uniting sport, health, young people, territory and international promotion of Italian extra virgin oil. A journey in which every sporting achievement also becomes an opportunity to tell an authentic heritage of Italy.
From children to young talents, to the professionals of major international competitions, Redoro's project thus spans all ages of cycling.
«We want to be close to both great champions and to the boys and girls who climb on a bicycle for the first time to participate in a race», concludes Salvagno. «Sport teaches that results are born from daily commitment. It's the same lesson that belongs to our work: to produce quality Italian extra virgin oil requires time, experience, hard work and respect for nature».
