Giorgia Bronzini is ready for a new challenge in professional cycling. The former world champion will be at the helm of one of the team cars for Team Visma | Lease a Bike Women starting from the new year

 «I am truly impressed by the team's philosophy: the way it races, how it develops talent, and how it cares for its athletes in every aspect», Bronzini explains. «It is stimulating to be part of a group that never stops trying to improve itself, and I see a great opportunity to continue growing».

«Giorgia knows women's cycling from the inside and has a deep understanding of the dynamics within the team. This experience is very valuable to us», explains team manager Rutger Tijssen. He then adds: «Her experience in cycling is obviously very important, but I was also struck by her enthusiasm, her determination, and her willingness to work hard for her athletes. We also discovered that we share a similar approach in leading and supporting a team. This convinced me greatly and was one of the reasons why I wanted her to be part of our team».

Within Team Visma | Lease a Bike, Bronzini will have a specific role linked especially to the development of younger athletes. Her work will focus in particular on tactical growth and the ability to read and interpret different race situations. «Giorgia will dedicate herself to working with our younger athletes, particularly on their tactical development and their ability to understand how to interpret a race», explains Tijssen.

For Bronzini, however, the role of sports director goes beyond simple tactical race management. Her concept of success is linked above all to the ability to engage athletes and staff toward a common goal.

«I am happy and satisfied when the athletes and staff are motivated and can say that we gave everything to achieve our objective, and when everyone feels they have contributed to what we have accomplished», explains the Italian.

The new adventure will also offer Bronzini the opportunity to work alongside Marianne Vos, one of the great rivals she encountered during her career as an athlete. The two shared the roads of major international competitions for many years, creating numerous duels at the highest levels of women's cycling. Now, however, they will be on the same side of the team car.

«Marianne and I raced against each other for many years and there has always been great respect between us. Now it is truly special to find ourselves on the same side and to have the opportunity to support Marianne in achieving her goals», says Giorgia, who looks forward with enthusiasm to the new adventure.
