Benjamin Noval is the new world champion in the junior time trial category. An exceptional performance from the Spanish rider who finished with a time of 25:17.35: no medal for Italy, but an excellent result from Patrik Pezzo Rosola who placed fifth, 21.05 seconds behind the Iberian rider. Second place went to Vic de Smet, the day's favorite, with the Belgian finishing 6"35 behind. Third was Denmark's Malthe Risbjerg (+16.97).

THE RACE. The time trial took place on the same circuit that saw Italy as a protagonist in the mixed relay (20.3 km total). Benjamin Noval disrupted expectations, starting strong from the opening kilometers. The Spaniard managed to beat the times of the two Danish riders, among the best in the category. A solid performance from Patrik Pezzo Rosola—son of cycling legends Paola Pezzo and Paolo Rosola—the Italian finished his effort with a strong closing, decisive as always at the finish, a tough uphill section that could also pose problems for the road race events. No medal in the junior men's race, Italy remains at three medals after the double silver from Ganna-Milesi and the gold won in the mixed relay. The junior men's road race is scheduled for Thursday, September 24, at 19:30 Italian time. Andrea Tarallo, the other Italian competitor, finished in twentieth position with a gap of 1'15".12
