It's the turn of junior women to close the third day of the world championships in Montreal (Canada) with the individual time trial. Italy relies on Maria Acuti, from Mantua riding for Biesse Carrera Zambelli, and Veronese Matilde Rossignoli, a rider with a cycling pedigree and representing BTF Burzoni VO2 Team Pink, both credited with good chances of a podium finish thanks to the results and qualities already demonstrated in time trial races.

58 athletes will start representing 35 nations. The first to leave the ramp will be Rwanda's Donatha Akimana at 21.15 Italian time, while the last to start will be Dutch rider Karlijn Wijma at 22.30.

THE MAIN FAVORITES. Among the most anticipated athletes stands out Karlijn Wijma, current Dutch national champion and indicated as one of the main contenders for the rainbow jersey. Among the most credited rivals are also Belgians Yana Decruyenaere and Laura Fivè, Australians Neve Parslow and Megan Moore, Spanish rider Alejandra Neira, German Edda Bieberle, Polish Maria Okrucińska, American Lily Edwards, Swiss Anja Grossmann, world and European mountain bike champion, and British Gabriella McHugh.
