Colombia has selected its athletes for the Canadian world championship and proposes for the elite men's race a decidedly experienced lineup: Nairo Quintana (Movistar), Egan Bernal and Brandon Rivera (Netcompany Ineos), Harold Tejada and Sergio Higuita (XdS Astana), Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain Victorious) and Walter Vargas (Team Medellin EPM). Rivera and Vargas will also compete in the time trial.

In the women's category called up are Paula Patiño (Laboral Kutxa), Diana Peñuela and Laura Rojas (Team Sistecredito) with Peñuela also facing the time trial.

The Under 23 men are Miguel Angel Marin (EF Aevolo), William Colorado (Nu Colombia), Jaider Muñoz and Andres Plazas (Team Sistecredito) and Juan Diego Quintero (Netcompany Ineos Academy) with the latter two called to compete in the time trial.

Women Under 23: Juliana Londoño (Team Picnic), Angie Londoño (Oro Express) and Natalia Garzon (Team Sistecredito), with the last two also competing in the time trial.

Men Juniors: Juan Esteban Sanchez (Orgullo Paisa), José Manuel Posada (CSP Professional) and Alejandro Pamplona (GW Erco) with Sanchez and Posada competing in the time trial.

Finally women juniors with Estefania Carillo (Team Sistecredito), Zara Lamprea (Ciclismo Capital) and Salomé Vargas (Avnal Alcadia El Carnem de Viboral) with Lamprea and Carillo also competing in the time trial.
