The development of young cyclists and support for emerging talents to reach their full potential remain at the heart of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA's activities. Thanks to the Caja Rural-Alea development team, over 140 riders have progressed to professional cycling over the years.

Daniel Cepa (Ondara, 2004) is the latest addition to this list. The Valencian cyclist has been one of the protagonists of the Spanish Elite and Under 23 group this season. Cepa has spent his entire Under 23 career within the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA structure, growing steadily since joining Caja Rural-Alea in 2023. His progress was already evident last season, when he claimed stage victories at the Vuelta a Madrid, Vuelta a Ávila, and Volta a Galicia. He also had the opportunity to represent Spain at the Under 23 European Championships at the end of the year.

The decision to extend his time in the Under 23 category for another season, allowing him to continue growing and gaining experience, proved to be the right call this year. Cepa has made significant progress, establishing himself as one of the leading riders in the Spanish group in some of the most important races on the calendar.

His victory in the Copa de España general classification represents the highlight of an exceptional season, completed by victories in two of the most tactically demanding races on the national calendar: the Trofeo Guerrita and the Clásica de Torredonjimeno. He also finished second in the Memorial Valenciaga, missing victory by millimeters, and was among the contenders for stage wins at the Vuelta a Navarra.

After four seasons of growth within Caja Rural-Alea, Cepa will now take the next step in his career, joining the first team and thus completing a journey that has seen him become one of the most promising riders of his generation.
«Reaching professionalism with the same structure that believed in me when I moved to the Under 23 category at 18 years old means closing a very special and important chapter of my life. We spent four years growing together, and being able to take this step within the same structure makes it even more special. It also means fulfilling a dream I've had since childhood and which I've fought for many years to achieve, always with the help and support of my family and the people who have stood by me. In the end, behind this achievement lies an enormous amount of work, sacrifice, and countless experiences, so reaching it makes me incredibly happy».

And further: «I consider myself a fast and rather versatile cyclist. I feel comfortable in the mountains and particularly enjoy technical, explosive, and hard-to-control races. I believe the races that best suit my characteristics are those with demanding routes, short and explosive climbs, or fast and chaotic finishes, where positioning and the ability to read the race well are fundamental. I still have much to discover about what kind of cyclist I can become, but I have a clear understanding of my strengths and I want to continue developing them».
