Alessio Magagnotti's winning sprint at the end of the 197 kilometers of Schwäbisch Hall / Offenbach an der Queich, the second stage of the Deutschland Tour. The 19-year-old from Trentino with Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe finished with arms raised after an exciting sporting battle with Paul Magnier (Soudal Quick-Step) who had to settle for second place. Third place for Portuguese rider Iúri Leitão (Caja Rural - Seguros RGA).

The day's breakaway came to light about ten kilometers after the start from Schwäbisch Hall, proposed by Germans Ole Theiler (REMBE | rad-net) and Ben Felix Jochum (Team Lotto Kern-Haus) together with Spanish rider Alvaro Sagrado (Team Storck). These men led the stage for a long time and at the top of the day's only climb Theiler anticipated his breakaway companions, securing the points needed to take the lead in the mountains classification.

Reaching the intermediate sprint in Oberhausen, when 53 kilometers remained to the finish, Alvaro Sagrado passed ahead of everyone while the peloton was chasing 55 seconds behind. The breakaway ended with a handshake between the three brave riders who were caught by the group 31 kilometers from the finish.

Thus they reached the Intermediate Sprint won by Del Toro ahead of Politt and Vacek. The Mexican thus moved closer to Berrè who precedes him in the general classification.

The final fifteen kilometers of the race, ridden in a circuit format, also on narrow roads, saw the compact peloton led by Soudal Quick Step and Unibet Rose Rockets. As the finish line drew closer, Lidl Trek and the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe riders also made their move, positioning Magagnotti in the best position for the winning head-to-head with Magnier.
