The fire emergency that is crippling France is making its impact felt all the way to the capital Paris and also on the roads of the Tour. The Paris Police Prefecture and the Tour de France Organizing Committee have issued a joint statement regarding the modification of the final stage route from Thoiry to Paris due to the exceptional situation linked to the fires.

In light of the numerous fires currently affecting France, and in particular the Gironde region, emergency services are fully mobilized to fight the flames, while internal security forces are working to secure the affected areas and protect the population.

In this context, the Minister of the Interior has decided to redeploy part of the internal security forces initially mobilized to ensure the safety of the final stage of the Tour de France, in order to strengthen the resources deployed in the areas affected by the fires. In a sign of national solidarity with the regions and communities affected, it has been decided to modify the route of the final stage from Thoiry to Paris, scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2026.

As a result:

- The route of the 21st stage is reduced to 89 km compared to the 133 km originally planned.

- The advertising caravan will depart from Thoiry at 13:20 – after the parade, it will leave Thoiry and head directly to the final circuit in Paris.

- The team presentation will take place at 15:40 – after the presentation, the riders will proceed directly to the final circuit in Paris by bus.

- The official start from the finish line is scheduled for 17:50

– the riders will complete two additional laps of the Champs-Élysées before reaching the Montmartre circuit, where the finish is scheduled for 19:45.

The Police Prefect and the Director of the Tour de France commend the commitment of all those involved in fighting the fires and express their full solidarity with the affected communities. They thank the riders, teams, local authorities, partners and the public for the understanding shown regarding these exceptional measures made necessary by the situation.
