After the second rest day, the Tour de France resumes its race to tackle the third and final week. And the Grande Boucle gets back underway with another highly anticipated stage: the Evian-les-Bains - Thonon-les-Bains time trial of 26.1 km.

The race starts from the shores of Lake Geneva, it arrives on the shores of Lake Geneva, connecting two spa and resort towns but... the pleasantries end there. Indeed, because the course of what is the only individual time trial of the Tour is anything but simple.

The problems begin right from the start because riders depart uphill to tackle the Côte de Larringes, a category 2 climb measuring 9.7 km at 4.3%. After one third of the race there will be the first time check, followed by another third of the race this time downhill. Only in the final third of the race will riders find flat terrain and a "classic" time trial course.

The first rider to start will be Polish rider Gradek, then departures will follow every 90 seconds while the top general classification riders will start with a two-minute gap.

The favorites are Olympic and world champion Remco Evenepoel, but there is obviously great anticipation for the showdown with Tadej Pogacar and also for the performance of Italian champion Filippo Ganna, dealing with a course certainly not ideal for him but highly motivated in pursuing a strong result.
