The Union Cycliste Internationale and the Event Organizing Committee are pleased to unveil today the calendar for the 2027 UCI World Cycling Championships Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc (France), which will take place from August 24 to September 5, 2027.

In almost two weeks, the largest cycling event ever organized will bring together more than 15,000 athletes — from the world's greatest champions to the best amateurs — representing the 206 National Federations affiliated with the UCI. Competitors will compete for 288 UCI World Champion titles across 20 different UCI World Championships, held at 16 competition venues. Most events will take place in the Haute-Savoie department in the French Alps, while track cycling events will be held in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, near Paris.

The first week will kick off the event with highlights including gravel races at Châtel-Portes du Soleil on August 26 and 27, BMX Freestyle Flatland finals in Cluses on August 26, BMX Racing finals (venue to be confirmed) on August 27, and mountain bike downhill finals at Les Gets on August 27 and 28. The week will culminate in one of the most anticipated moments of the championship: the Elite men's road race at Sallanches-Domancy-Pays du Mont-Blanc on August 29, on a course that will include the legendary Domancy climb, the site of Bernard Hinault's world title in 1980.

The second week will build on this momentum, starting with road time trials around Lake Annecy on August 30 with Junior individual races, followed by Elite races on September 1st. The program continues with mountain bike cross-country Olympic races at Les Gets from September 2 to 4, races at Sallanches-Pays du Mont-Blanc from August 30 to September 3, and BMX Freestyle Park finals in Cluses on September 4. Throughout the week, indoor disciplines will also take center stage, with cycling esports in Évian on August 31 and September 1st, cycling on August 30, and artistic cycling and cycle-ball at La Roche-sur-Foron from September 3 to 5. The 2027 UCI World Cycling Championships will conclude with the Elite women's road race on September 5 at Sallanches-Domancy-Pays du Mont-Blanc.

Meanwhile, track races will take place in three separate sessions at the Vélodrome National de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, the venue that hosted track cycling at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Junior events will begin from August 16 to 20, before giving way to Elite events to be held from August 26 to 30. Track cycling events, for their part, will take place from September 1st to 5th.

Each day will be characterized by events across multiple disciplines, with key moments throughout the competition. This will ensure continuous media coverage from the first to the last day, while also giving the two million expected spectators the opportunity to discover the full range of cycling disciplines as part of a great celebration of sport. Cycling as a whole will benefit from an extraordinary 13 consecutive days of international visibility.

The event program has also been designed to encourage versatile athletes to compete in multiple disciplines of the UCI World Championships. Indeed, many athletes regularly compete in more than one discipline, for example in road and mountain bike, track and road, gravel and mountain bike, and para-cycling on road and track.

The program also reflects a commitment to making inclusion and gender equality central to the event. Para-cycling races will be present for all 13 days of competition, with the mixed team relay for para-cycling opening the medal count on August 25 in Rumilly.

Fully committed to parity in the sports program, the event will offer as many women's events as men's events. Women's competitions will be distributed throughout the duration of the event, with another powerful symbol being the Elite women's road race that will close the program on September 5.

President of the Organizing Committee and the Fédération Française de Cyclisme, Michel Callot, stated: "This calendar fully reflects the ambition of these UCI Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc World Championships: to bring together for the first time twenty UCI World Championships in a single event, without compromising the visibility of any discipline. Every discipline will have its moment, every athlete will have their chance to shine, and every spectator will experience something unique at the heart of the world's greatest cycling event."

President of the Haute-Savoie Departmental Council, Martial Saddier, stated: "For thirteen days, Haute-Savoie will become the world capital of women's cycling, men's cycling, and para-cycling. Beyond the competition itself, we want to organize a true cycling festival, where everyone can share the emotion of sport, discover new disciplines, and experience something exceptional in the heart of our mountains."

Bernard Hinault, ambassador of the 2027 UCI World Cycling Championships in Haute-Savoie Mont-Blanc, stated: "I was fortunate enough to become UCI World Champion in Sallanches in 1980. Seeing the world's best cyclists return here, across all disciplines and with para-cycling fully integrated, is something truly special. I am certain that this edition will go down in the history of our sport."
