The partnership between Modern Adventure and the Factor brand is strengthening. Having come on board this year as a technical supplier for the newly-formed American team, from next year the British bike brand will support the ambitions of George Hincapie's formation in an even more significant way, not only continuing to provide them with their bicycles but above all by officially becoming its co-title sponsor.
This commitment will not only entail an effective change in the team's name but, for the brand founded by Rob Gitelis, also greater involvement and engagement in the activities of the squad which, as openly stated by the American professional outfit, aims to be competing at the Tour de France within five years.
To ensure that this intention, along with successfully directing young overseas talent toward the major stages of European cycling, does not remain merely aspirational but materializes in the coming years, Factor will support the American team by strengthening its structure across all departments, from performance to rider recruitment and their development, and by placing the know-how of its engineers at the service of athletes and staff who, in a context of mutual exchange, will be able to benefit from useful feedback to further improve their materials.
"I know well what it means to be a young American cyclist aspiring to reach Europe and trying to figure out how to do it," said Factor Bikes founder Rob Gitelis.
"In my day, the path to get there wasn't simple, but it's not easy now either. That's why George Hincapie and Dustin Harder are trying to build something that offers riders a solid structure, a real team, and a concrete opportunity," continued the head of the British brand before alluding to the major objective for the coming seasons.
"The ambition to reach the Tour de France within five years is bold, but it has to be. Factor wants to be part of this project because we believe in this mission and because we can offer much more than just materials."
It is therefore a shared vision that has prompted Factor to double its efforts and believe even more strongly in the Modern Adventure project, a team that will certainly be able to draw great benefits from this new agreement by raising in the future both the overall level of its roster and that of collective performances.
"Gitelis and Factor understood what we're trying to build," declared Modern Adventure Team Principal George Hincapie. "It's not just about providing excellent bicycles to our riders, although at these levels that's important: it's about surrounding the team with people who understand racing, materials, rider development, and how long the journey is to reach the Tour de France."
With this target in mind, the consolidation of the relationship with a solid reality like Factor proves extremely functional for the American ProTeam which, by virtue of what has been established by the parties involved, will have under its sphere of influence from next year also the most promising prospects from the homonymous Continental Factor team: from this pool Hincapie and company will certainly be able to draw new talent to develop and refine in a context that, in this first season among the cycling elite, has already allowed several to make their mark, confirming that the foundation from which the orange-and-gold outfit set out to chase the Grande Boucle is more than solid.
