For several months now, Fermo Fiori, president of Gs Città di Brescia, has been meeting with sponsors, volunteers, friends and especially his board members to organize the Race of the Night scheduled for Tuesday, June 30, 2026 on the inner ring road circuit that riders will have to complete 21 times to cover the 21,800 kilometers on the program. The Città di Brescia Trophy has been held since 1997 under the direction of Fermo and Luca Fiori, president and vice-president of the organizing club.

Since the day they took over from Sport Club Brescia, organizer of the Amedeo Guizzi Trophy from 1963 to 1996, they have only skipped organizing it in 2020 due to COVID-19.

Truly an extraordinary commitment that underscores the passion and availability of the club that is once again taking charge this year. During the last meeting at the IAB in Brescia, just a stone's throw from Chiesanuova, Fermo and Luca Fiori highlighted the value of their collaborators, first and foremost board members Angelo Balsamo, Gianni Giordo, Valter Braghini, Attilio Cutrera, Fausta Franzoni, along with members: Stefano Marchi, Enrico Boni, Roberto Sardi, Simone Boifava, Pietro and Alberto Botti, Giovanni Frusca.

The race will award, as usual, the Città di Brescia Trophy along with the Rino Fiori and Emilio Volpi Memorials, as well as gold medals for Bruno Boni, Gianni Savoldi, Mario Colosio, and Tino Delpietro. For the first time, a plaque will also be awarded in memory of Gino Zaia, who for many years was the speaker of the Race of the Night alongside Luisa Pietta and Armando Marelli. This recognition will go to the sporting director of the winner.
“We are ready once again this year to renew our appointment with cycling fans,” said Fermo and Luca Fiori. “Every year it becomes increasingly difficult to organize and bring this race to fruition—the only international event in our province. However, we don't want to give up because we have established a special relationship with our provincial capital and the fans who line the roads to cheer on the riders every year.”
