A week as a protagonist across national and regional stages for Martino Zavan. The 22-year-old biker from Mogliano, racing for VPT Veneto Project Team, a Venetian outfit active in both road cycling and mountain biking, has achieved results of absolute prestige that confirm his excellent form and his growth in the national off-road cycling landscape.

The first highlight came at La Salle, in the Aosta Valley, host of the Italian XCC Championship (Short Track). In a starting grid composed of Italy's best specialists in the discipline, Zavan took the start with number 13 and managed to finish the race in ninth place overall and third among Under 23 riders. A result of great value, achieved just 44 seconds behind winner Juri Zanotti, which allowed him to break into the top ten of the national championship and secure a podium finish in his category.

Less than twenty-four hours later came confirmation of his extraordinary moment. At Vigo di Cadore, the VPT Veneto Project Team rider conquered the title of Veneto Regional XCO Champion, winning the Men's Open race and finishing in first place overall ahead of Carlo Penzo and Lorenzo Lazzaretti.

An authoritative performance, built with consistency throughout the course and enhanced by the fastest lap of the competition, recorded in 13'43"7. A victory that earns him the regional champion's jersey and certifies the quality of his performances in this first part of the season.

Crowning these results came finally the call-up for the Italian national mountain bike team stage scheduled for June 5-7 in Val di Sole, in Trentino, one of the symbolic locations of world cross-country racing. Three days of training, technical comparison and growth alongside some of Italy's best talents in the discipline, an important opportunity to gain experience and continue his path of athletic development.
