UAE Team Emirates was literally decimated in the crash that occurred yesterday on the road to Veliko Tarnovo. Dr. Adrian Rotunno, Medical Director of the Emirati team, explains: "Unfortunately we were severely affected by the crash that occurred yesterday in the second stage. Jay Vine suffered a concussion and a fractured elbow. Marc Soler has a fractured pelvis. At the moment, neither of them should require surgery. Adam Yates suffered severe abrasions and a laceration to his left ear. He was initially examined on-site for a concussion and cleared to continue, but subsequently he showed symptoms of concussion some time later. He will not start the third stage today. All three are under observation by our medical staff and will return home in the coming days to continue their recovery and rehabilitation".
