The thrilling campaign of the north concludes with the queen of the classics; the Liège-Bastogne-Liège women's race is only in its tenth edition but has nothing to envy from its men's counterpart. From Bastogne to Liège, the athletes will have to face 156 km with 10 climbs and 2,830 meters of elevation gain, a race made for climbers. No Italian has ever raised their arms to the sky at the finish line, Elisa Longo Borghini was the only one to come close with two second-place finishes in 2023 and 2024. The Netherlands dominates the roll of honor with 6 victories out of 9 editions, Demi Vollering, Anna Van Der Breggen and Annemieke Van Vleuten all have 2 successes each. Last year Kimberley Le Court Pienaar was the protagonist of a beautiful solo finish, but today the defending champion will not be competing due to a crash at the Tour of Flanders that forced her into a long recovery period.

The start is set in Bastogne and compared to previous editions, the Côte de Saint Roch will not be tackled, but instead the Col de Haussire (3.9 km with an average gradient of 6.8%) after approximately 28 km. The next thirty kilometers will be ideal for catching your breath ahead of a block of climbs one after another: Côte de Wanne (3.6 km with an average gradient of 5.1%), Côte de Stockeu (1 km with an average gradient of 12.5%) and Côte de la Haute Levée (2.2 km with an average gradient of 7.5%). In the second part of the race there will be no real moment of respite, as the athletes will face Col du Rosier (4.4 km with an average gradient of 5.9%), Col du Maquis (2.4 km with an average gradient of 5.7%) and Côte de Desnié (1.6 km with an average gradient of 8.1%). Despite the constant ups and downs, the race is certainly not over, but it will really heat up 34 km from the finish with the 3 most famous climbs that have made the history of Liège-Bastogne-Liège. It starts with the Côte de la Redoute (1.6 km with an average gradient of 9.4%), then quickly moves to the Côte des Forges (1.3 km with an average gradient of 7.8%) and finally the Côte de La Roche Aux Faucons (1.3 km with an average gradient of 11%), the hardest climb of the entire competition. The summit is located 13.4 km from Liège where the queen of the queen of the classics will be crowned.

Today Demi Vollering could make history at the Liège-Bastogne-Liège Women and become the first athlete to win it three times. The Dutch superstar is the number one favorite and after her victories at the Tour of Flanders and the Flèche Wallonne a few days ago, she seems increasingly difficult to beat. FDJ United Suez is a strong and well-equipped team, and Juliette Berthe, Elise Chabbey and Evita Muzic could play key roles in the team's tactics. Vollering's main rivals are all fellow countrymen: Puck Pieterse finished second at the Flèche Wallonne and is looking for revenge, while Anna Van Der Breggen has the opportunity to claim her third crown in the queen of the classics and can count on Lotte Kopecky. Among the other athletes at the start, we should mention the presence of Ashleigh Moolman Pasio, Pauline Ferrand Prevot, Kasia Niewiadoma (fourth at the Flèche and second at the Amstel), world champion Magdeleine Vallières and the possible outsider Isabella Holmgren.
