The Tour of the Alps (April 20-24, 2026) will mark Tom Pidcock's return to racing, as he lines up with the Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling team following his recent injury. Pidcock has been sidelined since a crash during the fifth stage of the Volta a Catalunya on March 27, which resulted in a knee injury. After a period of recovery and careful rehabilitation, he is now ready to race in the five-stage Alpine event, running from Innsbruck to Bolzano, featuring a challenging course characterized by steep Alpine profiles and significant climbs.
The Tour of the Alps will serve as a crucial test to assess Pidcock's condition ahead of his next objective, the Liège-Bastogne-Liège on Sunday, April 26. His racing schedule remains flexible, with daily evaluations based on how he feels and, in particular, how his injured knee responds in racing conditions.
The Pinarello Q36.5 Pro Cycling team will tackle the race with a balanced and experienced lineup in support of Pidcock, while also aiming to secure important stage wins across the various courses: the roster will include Matteo Badilatti, Walter Calzoni, Mark Donovan, Chris Harper, Damien Howson, and Tom Pidcock.
With its mix of short, intense stages and mountainous profiles, the Tour of the Alps represents the ideal platform for Pidcock to regain his racing rhythm, while allowing the team to remain competitive in various situations.
