Just hours before the start of Paris-Nice, another major withdrawal has been announced: Danish rider Mattias Skjelmose is forced to pull out due to right wrist tenosynovitis.

The Lidl-Trek rider shared his disappointment on social media: "I am disappointed to be forced to miss Paris-Nice, a race I was looking forward to, but I have been diagnosed with right wrist tenosynovitis and therefore I will skip this race as a precaution, so that I and the team can prioritize recovery and future objectives".
