The world of professional cycling gathers today on the shores of the Ligurian Sea: the 63rd edition of the Trofeo Laigueglia is being held, a race that represents - if not physically, at least ideally - the opening moment of the Italian competitive season.

The 192 km route with 2,900 meters of elevation gain features significant innovations: for the first time the start takes place from Albenga (at 11.25 from via Enrico d'Aste, adjacent to Piazza San Michele), with a view to collaboration between local administrations that creates a system across the territory. Among the technical highlights, the inclusion of the Cipressa (5.6 km with average gradient of 4% and peaks exceeding 7%), the iconic climb of the Milan-Sanremo, and the peloton's entry for 12.6 km on the Ciclovia Riviera dei Fiori, an infrastructure symbol of sustainable mobility in Liguria awarded the Green Road Award 2025. The finale will be decided on Colla Micheri (2 km, average gradient 8%), a decisive climb repeated four times, three of which in the final circuit, before the finish line on Corso Badarò in Laigueglia, a return to tradition by the sea in the beautiful Ligurian village.
