Remco Evenepoel shows no mercy and wins the 25th time trial of his career, marking his sixth personal success of the season: the world champion in the specialty conquered the second stage of the UAE Tour, the 12.2 km time trial on Hudayriyat Island.

Taking advantage of an unusual regulation (each rider could choose their starting order except for general classification leader Isaac Del Toro), Evenepoel started very early when the wind was still calm and pedaled at an average speed of 56.092 km/h.

Behind him in the finishing order were British rider Joshua Tarling (Ineos Grenadiers) at 6 seconds and French rider Remi Cavagna (Groupama FDJ United) at 12 seconds. Del Toro finished 42 seconds behind the winner, while Antonio Tiberi was the best Italian, placing 12th at 34 seconds from Evenepoel.
