Aaron Dockx, a 21-year-old Belgian from Westerlo, has been crowned U23 Cyclocross World Champion in Hulst, Netherlands. In a race full of twists and turns, the new world champion surprisingly beat French rider Aubin Sparfel and Dutch cyclist Keije Solen, completing an unexpected podium. A disappointing day for Italian rider Stefano Viezzi, who was disqualified after abandoning his bicycle far from the pit zone, where he was supposed to change his bike, thus violating the UCI technical regulations.
